Why Management is Important?

Importance of Management

The management lays down the blueprint of a building that you intend to build, it lays down the index of the book that you are planning to write. Management is the very first in terms of planning, is a continuous process in terms of monitoring as well as synchronisation and is needed till the end in terms of delivering the right results at the right time.

So, you see management is needed at every step of a process but that doesn’t mean you can’t complete your task without proper management. You definitely can but the efforts and time consumed will be very huge relative to a properly managed process.

Here are a few benefits of management that can highlight its importance.

It's an efficient way of getting things done: Management can really help and improve the efficiency of any work and can really save a lot of time. There is a reason why people spend a good amount of given time and resources in planning as the first step towards their work management. As in planning (which is a part of management), you considers all possible angle and set down roles and responsibilities that will eventually save time and effort.

Synchronisation: Management really helps with synchronising work as well as people. When you have a lot of people in a team then synchronisation is the “key” as you want your people to work together as a team and not as individuals. Not only just with team members but with clients and stakeholders you need good synchronisation in order to avoid any conflict and finally achieve your end goal.

Sets up roles and responsibilities: As part of management, you define the roles and responsibilities of the people involved, which helps in avoiding potential conflict and set up a definition of who is doing what. In doing so you are actually utilising the people to the best of their capabilities and creating a Subject Matter Expert for a specific area. So, in terms of updates, queries or debugging you need where to go.

Creates a Flow: Management creates a flow such that the whole process is smooth and efficient in terms of time as well as resources. It sets up the beginning, the intervals and the end. One can set up different interim deliveries as well as part of their process management and efficient delivery service.

Reduce redundancy: Since management properly defines the roles and responsibilities with proper synchronisation you can avoid redundancy (i.e two or more people doing the same work) that in turn will save time, effort and resources.

One goal: One key objective of management is setting the objectives aligning to the vision of the goal. That will then lead the people in a specific direction in alignment with that one goal. As it's very much possible that each people is running in the race with their own goals in mind hence it becomes trivial to align the goals in the right direction.
