Plot

Nevertheless is a Kdrama that showcases the story of love and desire with no implications. The plot is set upon some art students where Yoo Na-bi a student at the Sculpture Department has recently gone through heartbreak and vowed to never fall in love again.

Park Jae-eon is a charming student in the university, popular among girls but is notorious for not being in a long-term relationship. He believes in infatuation but not in love, owing to his desires, he likes intimacy but hates relationships. The whole plot revolves around the relationship between these two.

In between Yang Do-hyeok came into the picture as Yoo Na-bi’s childhood friend who was stable, honest and genuine; in short, a normal caring guy who showed his fondness towards her. So one is dreamy with no future and the other is realistic and honest.

The show is rightly titled “Nevertheless” because when Yoo Na-bi started falling for Park Jae-eon’s charms her close friends warned her as they all knew what kind of Park Jae-eon he is but “Nevertheless” she went for it knowing the consequences. 

Takeaway

The show starts with intimacy between the lead couple who starts doing it casually, knowing it was meant to go nowhere. Like any relationship with no future just desires, that very soon turns into a toxic relationship. But like any addiction, it keeps lingering around tempting you to cheat.

So, the story offers a very interesting concept that fits in today's world.

Though the storyline is mostly focused on the above main characters but the side characters are equally good and worth watching. This show also showcases a same-sex relationship in the most innocent way.

In short, Nevertheless features very unorthodox and different thinking from all possible scenarios. I found it refreshing to watch as it gives freedom to thoughts and the scope of possibilities.
