Type of employees a manager has to deal with in a team

Type of employees a manager has to deal with in a team: A team is like a country which gets represented as a single entity on world map but when you’ll see at more detailed and granular level there are n  different states.

A team is like a country that gets represented as a single entity on the world map but when you’ll see at a more detailed and granular level there are n  different states and a “capital”. Similarly, like for smooth functioning of a country, the prime minister or president makes the call incorporate it’s the manager who holds this burden to make his team members running in one direction and not get killed by each other. While doing this job there are definitely different types of people he gets to deal with as no one is equally convincing. If there are 10 team members in a team there can be equal chances that their aspirations and their goal will be totally different than has nothing to do with the overall team goal. Here are a few types of team members a manager get to deal with;

The Demanders or pretenders
This is a very common and irritating set of people where the motive is not to do the work but to get be noticed as the person who did the work. The work may not be necessarily yours it may be someone else’s as well but somehow the name appears in the mail as the leading cast. One of the most common slang used by these people is:

I have too much to do so I’ll be leaving late Staying till late in the office of no reason and somehow this things pops out of their not so good digestive system on the lunch table next day sitting next with the manager! Convenient huh!

Manager’s Effort: Not harmful but wanna be so a little praise and consideration can get them satisfied!

The mail guys
Some people just love flooding your mailbox; like those spam messages getting popped out of nowhere in your personal mailboxes. The only difference is that it's your office mailbox and the sender is your team member so you just can’t ignore! These people just cc their manager in every mail, the update mail, the complaint mail even the congratulation mails as well.

Now after their so much of hard-work, they do expect a heavy increment at the year-end and I bet they are not easy to get manipulated as this is their job.

Manager’s Effort: Handle with Care

The politicians

They are our country’s future as they are so crafty with situations. Brawls, scandals, a simple spat they just know how to get this converted for their benefit. Whether it's using the current situation or even creating a situation they just leave no stone unturned! So, they are the most dangerous people to deal with as you never know when their last move can turn the table and instead of you they will be the one having the last laugh.

Manager’s Effort : Trickiest person to deal with

The doers
These are the ones who just give a damm about whats going on in other’s lives, they just worry about their favourite team match (and yes Netflix) and their own damm work-rest can go-to stars. At the year-end, they know what they are getting so they find wisdom in getting their mouth shut and save their energy while their manager read out their ratings.

Manager’s Effort: They are the easiest people to handle as they are 100% asset with minimal chance of liability.

The stayers
These are the people who were there when you pass out your college, were there when you joined your first company, were there when you joined this company and will be there when you will be becoming CEO. They are just happy with what they are getting and pacifying the manager.

Manager’s Effort: Mostly harmless

So you decide now if you are a manager then out of these few types of the team member who would you find most difficult to manage. If you will ask me it’s the first type, as they try to do 150% of an 80% scope project and then expect a 200% increment that’s not only unjustified but also irritating at times.
